Dragons Die

Dragons Die is a small strategy roguelite about raising a wing of named dragons and deciding how far their shared Breath can carry them.

Breath is distance, firepower, and the road home. Pick the wing. Plot a bearing or mark a route through the reach. Spend enough to survive the fight—and keep enough to return.

Every dragon begins as a shell. Species, class, personality, bonds, and the instincts they develop make each one a particular life instead of a replaceable unit. Captains can die. Wings can fail. The Long Table remembers their names.

THE FLIGHT

• Hatch a named wing. Raise particular dragons with their own classes, 
• personalities, bonds, strengths, and scars.
• Plot the whole journey. Use a free bearing or place waypoints, budget one 
• shared Breath reserve, and leave room for the flight home.
• Fight in real time. Change formation, make wing calls, break guard lines, 
• take keys, and claim holds.
• Cross four escalating regions. A full Lone Flight asks for sixteen holds 
• and four regional bosses, with the last hold guarded by the grand boss.
• Bring the story home. Debriefs, growth rites, songs, the Hall, the Clutch 
• Book, and the Long Table keep every campaign specific.
• Live with the losses. The archive keeps the dragons who did not return 
• from becoming disposable numbers.
